Wonderful things come to those who wait.
How long have we been waiting for Kyosho to relent, and jump on the re-release bandwagon? The answer = too long, but hey, better late than never, and in this case good things really do come to those who wait.
Let's just hope that this is not their one and only entry into the re-release market, because this effort has been truly fantastic. The exact same design, tweaked with improved performance, modern hop-up parts, alternative cosmetic options and gorgeous presentation....every box has been ticked for the vintage enthusiasts.
I am so pleased that they have started with the Scorpion too, because originals are/were pricey and difficult to find. All they need to do now is continue in the same vein with the Tomahawk....and then bring back the Optima, Javelin, Ultima & Optima Mid. Go on Mr Kyosho, you are on a roll now, and you know it makes sense. ;-)
If you liked those pictures, you should see these...

Really nice kit, congrats. The price also makes it very enticing. I may get the Optima Mid SE if that ever gets re released as this is the one i always wanted as a kid and still now.

Nice one, mate! Argghh, i planned to resist on this one as i spent too much on kits lately but your post makes me wanting one more than ever
Wandy
Do it, scooby....resistance is futile.

Now that I just traded my vintage resto scorpion......mmmmmmm none original stickers!!!
matman
Looks great , Just wish they bring out the optima next . So when are you going to start the build ? .
Wandy
I think the Optima will come pretty soon matman. My build starts this weekend....are you getting one of these?
RACECRAFTERS
With Tamiya's success on re-re's, I knew this would eventuate. All the improvements incorporated in this kit, makes it far superior to the original. If you don't have a Scorpion yet, there's no excuse. This is a superior rendition to the original and looking forward to the ones that follow. Well done Kyosho! Well done Wandy!
Percymon
Enjoy the pair Andy - they're a great piece of history reinvented
Wandy
Cheers RACECRAFTERS....are you getting one? ....and thanks Percy, but I ran out of photo space to show both kits together.
Wandy
...actually, scrap that last comment. Just changed the second photo to show them both off.

Sure am Wandy 'Just recovering from my Worlds Kit RC10 plus JConcepts hop-ups but it going to happen. Maybe the Turbo and/or Tomahawk will be a bit more tempting by then!
Wandy
That's cool mate. A Worlds is on my wish list but just got too many that are more important at the moment. A Mountaineer re-release is next...should be in the post in a couple of days time. The chase never ends.
RACECRAFTERS
WoW! I didn't see your last pic - Love the optional colors they offer. I remember bidding $300 on a NIP yellow tub and still loosing out. Yum..!
Wandy
Wow...$300!! You will be pleased to know that the new tubs cost a whopping $11.00.
RACECRAFTERS
Thanks for info Wandy - I won't be buying $300 worth of tubs. You're right about the chase, but I've decided to focus on what I already have, which is plenty, and just admire a lot of the latest gems.
Wandy
Yeah, I know what you mean mate. It's very, very difficult for most people to keep up with everything that gets released. Me included.

I really, really want one of those. Kyosho seems to beat Tamiya in terms of cool hop-ups, hopefully this will make it sell good and we will see more iconic rereleases from Kyosho. Question: Where are all the hop-ups for sale? I couldnĀ“t find any at the bay?
Wandy
I got my hop-ups from Banzai Hobby along with the two kits. The spare parts are incredibly cheap too. Not all the hop-ups are available yet though, so it seems they are trickling them out.
tamiyoman
Optima, Ultima and Optima Mids will be be a part of the 'Legendary Series', just hope they make the Javelin cage as a 'Hop up'
