How many hours? and how much? it frightens me to think !!!*
This is my link back to my youth, was bought one Christmas 1983 - and had great fun building and brush painting the body. Finally it got used and used as they were intended, it lasted a year before retirement due to me getting a Frog in 1984.
The one you see here was bought via ebay for £54, it was in very good condition with only one crack on the body via the screen. I set about stripping the paint and repairing the damage. It has been painted in cellulose and flatted with 1200 wet and dry to high sheen.
I have fitted many new parts including rear drive shafts complete, new glass, roll bar etc. New wheels and tyres, new decals, bumper and various other minor parts.
As I plan with all my models it is fully operational with correct radio gear although this will never be raced in anger - I have another for that. This has to be my favourite by far and has had many hours spent on it and I mean hours !!! I worked out it's cost me £160 ish to get to this stage although the cost never came into it. Now what happened to that Frog I bought ;-)

As a restorer of real cars, cost is the one thing you MUST over look. What you have here really is a stunning example. Mine is looking terrably shabby now and l feel it's time to pull out the stops but first l must finish my Raleigh Grifter bike.
