Beach run action!
Went on holiday to Wales and decided to take my sand scorcher re release and my restored Hornet. I made sure I comprehensively water proofed all the electronics with plastic bags. This meant the ESC on the scorcher had no cooling but thats better than salt water!. The Hornet had the same treatment but ran a really old school set up of MSC and the 4 AA batteries to power the receiver. The Hornet was a massive surprise. Ive only ever ran one back in the day on tarmac and dusty gravel, where its bouncy, rolls easily and the rear tyres wear quick. On compacted sand its absolutely fantastic!. With the correct spikey sand tyres in un worn condition it was great!,better than the Scorcher. clearly what it was designed for. I tried to replicate the iconic swimming sandscorcher shot from the front of the original manual with the Scorcher and the hornet. Goes without saying that both cars were stripped when I got home. the Scorcher having suffered slightly more because the hornet can't corrode!. The bearings suffer and Im thinking a beach runner may be better with plastic bearings. I did go a bit extreme but they sit on the shelf most of the time so what the hell, it was fun!

2 iconic cars in there natural environment waterproofing GO! -Hornet is great on sand -Lets get wet! -and wetter -and wetter swimming hornet -Aftermarth -The end

Totally awesome! My HB still waits to be put into gear again since its last excursion on a nice white beach and a big wet wave.

Great fun I still need to strip my scorcher from its last beach run and then install the new diff I purchased of a TC member.
