I had been away from RC's for many years, but I just couldn't resist the temptation when I found the Montero Wheelie at a local hobby shop. Wasn't very happy about the re-issue on big tires so back to retro style with a hump back battery.

The words 'Paris-Dakar' have disappeared... Lots of stickers... with the old school hump back stock suspension and 360 motor little modification up front Yippee!!

That looks so much better.
Well done.

Nice decision! The original retro version is far better than the re-issue. I have 3 of the originals waiting in pieces to be restored!

I like this car a lot, this was back then actually my first favourit car from tamiya but i bought a grasshopper instead. This car is still on my wanted list with the same idea to mount some Subaru brat wheels/tires to get the vintage look again. I find it hard to believe that no one else came up with this great idea. I've been thinking to do this but you first need a car to do so. Btw, you've done a nice paint job.

Thanks for the comments guys! Over the years, I've owned lots of Tamiyas but the 1st generation Pajero has always been my favorite. I actually bought two of these so I can keep one stock and do some mods on the other one
