Latest project was gonna be a runner but the further I went along the more it gravitated towards the shelf! ;)
I found this sad lonely old Taisan Starcard Porsche 911 GT2 TA02SW wearing a subaru impreza body and wheels on auction, there was no interest whatsoever so I put in a bid and won. :)
I fully stripped and rebuilt the chassis, added a hop-up Acto Power, sourced a genuine Tamiya body & wheels from a UK seller, along with some decals from Canada.
I have a spare repro GT2 body with an original wing to use as a runner, but I still can't decide on the colour, think I'll get another chassis for it ;)
Comments welcome.

i Think White paint will be Awesome especially with Golden Wheels and Dark Decals out there

Cheers guys. White is standard on the piaa gt2 so may go with something brighter!

So the grey gearboxes were specific to this car??? And I just thought I had bad lighting or eyesight when I saw grey wheel hexes in my spares box.
I wonder how DEEP BLUE would look on this car without every decal, just maybe the red and white decals, mostly??
Doesn't look too shabby in black

love this.looks really good.may have to get myself one wife permitting, haha

@Crash - yes this is the only model with grey boxes. It's the only TA02SW, so it makes it kinda rare, it's not often tamiya don't repeat a particular style of chassis I'm still leaning towards yellow, with just lights (no sponsors) for the body

@boxartparts - order little bits here and there, she might not notice. Mine did though, two body shells arrived in the same week haha

arrrgh busted.sound slike a plan though

Wez-li, you have to learn to order things spaced out so they don't arrive on the same week and you need a neighbor that will accept all the blame for the box on your steps so you can say it was actually their box and not yours. It works sometimes, but the best way to do it is to collect the mail before the wife does.

@Crash, I wish, my wife is always home so nothing gets by her haha
