This one has been with me for a while but as a project, it took ages to get it off the ground. Slowly chipping off all the green paint from the original body was tedious but well worth the effort.

Fully rebuilt with TRF Buggy Dampers and 3D printed D parts being the main Hop Ups. Thanks to ORB Racing for their awesome work on the parts.

I've built it to run on LiPo with a Quicrun ESC and Fitted a 17x2 LRP V10 Spec.5 motor and 23t pinion. Thanks for checking it out !

Looks great, well worth you paint chipping efforts. 3D printer is on my list!

Lovely restoration, rare to find boxed and in that condition. It's a credit to you.

Thanks Guys. This is the one model that I've always wanted so I'm really very pleased with it. Your spot on Wez, these don't come up very much at all these days so I was very lucky !

Very nice! What length shocks (or part no) did you use?

Nice take on the Buggy Aeration dampers! Sure it will greatly sort the woefully under stroked/under damped grey CVA's!

Cheers sunny, SHY and jeek. @SHY69 the part number is 54028. The rear dampers are built to 92mm as standard but I've used harder 3Racing springs (painted white PS1). The front dampers needed to be limited to 70mm with 2 x red o'rings on the shaft, below the piston. I also had to use the original lower eyelet and lower spring retainer from the Super Astute to clear the lower arms on down stroke. I want to keep the original look but in hindsight, building the front TRF dampers to their standard 75mm and using the taller FibreLyte carbon front damper tower would give the best result !

Certainly a labour of love! Great to see it finished and definitely my favourite 2wd buggy of the first 100. Beauty mate, real beaut!

My very favourite too Neil. First Tamiya with a slipper clutch, first Tamiya to have the white Star Dish wheels and Square Spike tyres which are still in production today. Not bad for a first 100 car. Thanks again to you Paul, I'm sure going to put those parts to the test Mate.

Vivid memories of seeing this buggy at Hobbylandia here in Santiago, must have been 1992 or '93. The colors and overall look of it screams early 90's. Must be one super dirt racer. Everybody asked about it back then, the Super Astute!
