Here's a project that I finished a month or two ago, but I've not had chance to share it with you all, as I've been so busy.

Basically this is my version of what an ideal 'out the box' Grasshopper would look like - taking elements from both the original and GH2, plus adding in some fresh new bits n bobs.

It was a really enjoyable but challenging project from end to end. It started by me picking up 2 battered GH2's from 'the Bay.

Taking each model on their own, well they were well beyond hope and ready for the bin (!), but taking the best bits of each I thought I might be able to resurrect one decent model. Fingers crossed at this stage.

The biggest challenge was the body shell. Both 'hoppers I'd bought had battered, broken and split shells. At one stage I had to hack off the roof off both donor 'hoppers, lob one away and re-attach the good roof one to the good bodyshell, fill in the gaps with Milliput and then sand, sand and sand again! Phew. The end result is you can't see the join and the shell is as strong and good as new. Hurrah!

I then added spotlights (always love spotlights on buggies!), some Fox wheels/tyres for a bit of bling, painted up a driver figure and fixed on what I think are some Kyosho shocks that I had in my spares box. I found original GH decals online (as always, a small fortune) and lastly, gave the whole shell a retro white and yellow colour scheme, for a bit of a change from the standard green/white 'hopper look.

This has been run lightly indoors but is most definitely staying as a shelf Queen. Hope you like it guys!
