Hello Me again back with another new car to show you, like I said in my last showroom entry my Mortgage is now finnito and as a result I have Hundreds of pounds worth of disposable income to play with every month again, well not as much as you might think…

I did have to take out a Monthly standing order to pay my way with food and board and household bills the total of said amount is just a couple of quid shy of what my mortgage payment was however the way I’m saving money is that I used to pay my household fees by cash handout every week which was around the £50-£55 mark, this has now stopped and I get that money back so I do have around £200+ extra to play with every month so I can resume RC collecting on a limited basis, but as I now prefer to collect Transformer Toys AKA “Plastic Crack!” finding space between bot purchases (which are considerably cheaper than your average RC car) to shell out for RC cars is going to be tricky and more infrequent than I would have hoped, part of this problem is I don’t actually do anything with my RC car collection? It just sits there in the loft, I would like to opportunity to get them out for a spin every now and again, but the last couple of times I’ve tried like Clumber park events and the DT02 challenge back end of last year something has got in the way and prevented me from going to these events, so I can afford to buy the odd RC car now but don’t expect me to get one every month? Speaking of which there is another car just out that I’ve kinds got my eye on…. The new Wheelies Wheeler on the WW-02 chassis…… very nice I may have to investigate it further?

So what new Pussycat… well this Puppy :) I saw the preview shots of this car on the Tamiya website a couple of months ago and it made my jaw drop to the floor… Now I had previously been interested in getting a regular Dark Impact but for reasons I never got around to actually buying one though I did kinda hanker for one with no real intention of buying one, that is until I saw the White version, WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!! That is Frickin amazing looking, what a difference a change of colour makes, now I do like the look of white suspension components on a car, I do have a few in my collection like the Associated RC10, Traxxas Bullet and Kyosho Pro-X, they do have a certain appeal to me and the white suspension parts play a major part in that admiration, so to see another car that not only has white suspension but shocks, Shock towers, chassis, Gearboxes and wheels and body and just about everything else except the tires I fell in love with this thing at first sight, but as it was listed as a Limited edition I doubted that I would get a chance to buy one and that it would come out at a silly premium price that would put it out of range of my present meagre budget, but I kept an eye on the online RC shops to check as it when it would finally be released.

But come the other evening I had a phone call from my mate Richard and he had some good news for me, he said the car was out and listed on Modelsport UK at the unbelievably reasonable price of £129 so while he on the phone to me I reached for my mobile, fired up the web browser, clicked on the Modelsport link and within a couple of ticks I’d purchased a White edition Dark Impact, and as the order was over £100 I got free postage too  and today the car has arrived.

There was a large brown box waiting for me when I got home today, but I knew that it was due for delivery today so I wasted no time in opening it up, the first things I noticed is that this version of the car comes fully ball raced and is also equipped with a Torque Tuned motor which came as a nice surprise, like the Suzuki Jimny Blue Edition I’d bought previously the box was the standard box but had extra stickers applied to denote that it was a limited edition, inside the kit is the usual modern Tamiya fare, lots of parts in little plastic bags and a cardboard divider between the sections in the box, but the real delight is that all the plastic parts in the various spru bags are all in pristine white plastic which is a sight to behold, there does seem to be a difference in the grade of plastic used for the certain parts like the chassis tub and battery door are made of a stiffer more blueish tinted plastic while the rest is of the more normal stuff they make wheels out of and that has a yellowish tint to it, still this kit looks amazing and will surely be a lot of fun to build, and build I will probably sometime next week as I have a couple of days off work and I need to go over to Kits and Bits in Coventry to get a tin of white spray paint anyway, however I have no intension of ever running this car, I’ll build it dry, I may fit a steering servo just to hold the steering straight if nothing else but that’s it, I don’t wanna run it cos it’s made of white plastic and as such is a dirt magnet the slightest bit of dirt will stick out like a sore thumb so this is going to be a shelf queen and nothing else it will look too damn cool to risk getting dirty anyway so that’s my immediate plan for this car, hopefully next time you see it it will be built :)

The box is normal apart from a few stickers. Its nice to come home to find a large parcel. Inside the parcel we find the prize. A close up of the limited edition sticker on front And it has these cool foil stickers on the side. Open the box and there is nothing unusual to see. But get it all out and everything turns white. Close up of the cool looking white plastic sprus. A quick test fit of the body on the chassis tub.
