In the past I've used 4ch sets and used the left stick for throttle and steering

The problem with that was getting a good enough hold of the transmitter and not drop it while driving

Now, I use a pistol set and just 'extend' the steering wheel with cable ties

There's two options, depending on the pics I need - For low level panning shots I usually strap the transmitter to my left thigh, with the steering wheel pointing towards the ground and have the cable ties at 10 and 2 so I can steer with my index and middle finger.

This setup allows my to lay on my right side, getting the camera close to the ground

Throttle is controlled by left thumb

For higher level shots (like the Alfa Giulia) I use the cable ties parallel about 9 o'clock/west and handhold the transmitter

I can still thigh-mount this setup, but prefer the 10/2 option for low level shots

Finally, I have a battery grip on my camera, which has a 'portrait' shutter-release button which is handy for low level landscape shots as it's more comfortable to hold with my triffer finger under the camera instead of contorted round to reach the top shutter-release

This is a nice idea though! But i can't drag myself from my sticks!! The main ingredient though has to be a big wide space! and a lots of luck!

Oh I see! That looks way too easy like that though!

How about mounting a smaller camera to top edge of an old stick tx via the tripod mount so you could reach the shutter with a forefinger (or extend the throttle stick toward camera) and point the whole thing at the car to frame it in the camera's rear screen.

It's doable, there's a similar system for video - the camera hangs in front of the trigger on a gimbal, and a phone clips on top as a viewfinder.

It doesn't do RC, but there's nothing stopping you adapting it to fit a trigger set.

Great tutorial TWINSET, but I still think you're a magician by day, to juggle all that..

Ah, but you only see the good pics
Strapping the transmitter to my leg really helps as I don't have to hold it - then it's not much different to typing or using the TV remote

You're very good at this one-handed functioning, Twinnie..... guess you've had lots of practice!
