25 years ago when I got my first Tamiya the truck I originally wanted was a Blackfoot. I saw it in a home shopping catalogue - Littlewoods or Great Universal, I can't remember which. My friend at the time talked me out of it and I ended up with a King Cab, which undoubtably was a better handling and probably faster truck.

Since getting back into RC I've been on the lookout for a a Blackfoot, either a NIB to build, or a nicely build example. When I was offered this one built by Moosey from Tamiya101.com I couldn't say no.

It's never been run, there was no evidence of even having servos fitted and the paint and detailing has been very well done. Having said that it's a fair few years since it was built and the paint is looking a little flat. There's also a lot of very fine scratches over the body and windscreen so I'd like to respray it at some point perhaps. This shows up in the rear shot especially as I used a flash.

Rooting through some of my old stuff still at my parents house I came across the page torn out of the catalogue. It's a bit creased but I've scanned and uploaded it for posterity.

Update 5th Feb 2017: I took some new photos of this in preparation for selling it and uploaded them below. I never liked the fact that it wasn't really mine, and wasn't totally happy with the paint so decided it should go.

Update 11th Feb 2017: I listed this on eBay as a Buy It Now and it sold within 90 minutes. Packaged it up today and sent it to the new owner in Austria.

2 Wanted one in 1990, got one in 2015! Paint could do with a refresh Nice work on Ron 1 The photo that made me want one

Looks great. The scratches must be part of the history on this one this was also the truck that got me into RC back in the days. My cousin had one, and I wanted one so much, but after saving like what feeled like forever, they were not in stock at my local hobby shop, so I ended up with a Falcon. Fortunately I also have a nice BF in my collection now.

I also remember drooling over this and the Monster Beetle in my Grandmothers Littlewoods catalogue. Very nice addition.

Good example of one of the most legendary Tamiya models to ever grace the face of the earth Oh, and it's great to see the catalog there.

Pretty nice looker there, it was always the Monster Beetle that made me drool in the MONSTER Tire sized vehicles back then.
Can't imagine sitting still for 40 weeks to buy this gem, but at least it was all ready to go with its radio and batteries in that bundle.

@Crash I think the deal was you get the item straight away then pay it off weekly (in those days by going to the bank each week with the cash!) You did pay dearly for the privilege though so although there was technically no interest the prices were inflated. I think the same deal outright from a hobby shop was about £150.

Ahhh, there is the rub, got it, we didn't have that type thing here in the states, not at least for HOBBY GRADE items, perhaps toys at Kmart on lay-a-way.
