1/12 on road Toyota Celica LB Turbo the car that started it all

This is a model that I lusted for when I was a young kid. I always used to see this model in the Tamiya catalogue and dreamt of one day owning one. To satisfy my desire I had initially bought the 1/24 motorised model and the 1/20 static model from Tamiya, but it was never the real deal. Over time I forgot about this model till I stumbled across this website and then my love for this model was rekindled. Sadly, finding good condition models became harder than meeting the mythical unicorn, but there was one model that appeared over time on eBay from a Japanese seller. The box condition was sadly not perfect but it was a nib and the contents were perfect. I watched this model for a long time noting that the price never went down. Finally I decided to put an offer in at a lower price, and to my pleasant surprise the seller agreed. It was still high but I was prepared to pay this amount. The arrival of the package was like the opening of an invaluable treasure. Making it even more pleasurable was the fantastic manner in which the the seller had packed the model. He is clearly an enthusiast and knows how to ship these very valuable kits. I will never build this as I have since purchased another built example in need of some minor restoration work and a new shell and that will be my display piece.
