I built an Egress 2013 late last year but only completed up the chassis only. Having been busy with work and my newborn/infant daughter the Egress project was set aside. Now with the vibes in motion and completed restorations on my friend's vintage HotShot, almost completing my Honda City Turbo runner now I am pressing on to finalise my Egress body, running gear and so on. I thought since i'm in the groove have embarked in assembling another Egress with an Avante 2001 re:re body, must have trademark Vanquish long bumper and wheels with stud spike tyres in keeping things true to 2001 theme. So here's a few sneak peeks! Full show pics will follow soon!

- Egress almost done pics coming soon! - Now arise Avante 2001! - Still thinking what colour theme to go for - Trademark 2001 long bumper - It's 3:45am and almost there....

Nice project. Have been thinking about this ever since the Egress was re-released. It always has been my favourite Tamiya buggy and buying, building and abusing a re-release is not a shame!
Let me know if it is still a nice car to drive with modern electronics so I can reconsider the idea! Wish you lots of fun with it.........

@ Crash-Chris: Thanks Chris, i've always loved the Egress and Avante series but to run I still prefer the Top Force as they handle a lot better. However I am looking forward to testing the Egress as it will be my 1st time ever. But irregardless you should get yourself a few re:re kits as they are a lot better built than the vintage despite minus the titanium screws...
