Fusion Comp Entry - Sand Blitzer

Here's my entry for the Fusion comp.

I recently completed this Blitzer Beetle liveried Scorcher which I thought would make a good entry for the Fusion comp, but the model itself I didn't think was good enough alone. I then read the line that said you were allowed to use software to enhance the pic - now that I'm quite handy at!


I rigged my lighting setup to get a similar look to the classic 80s and 90s Tamiya catalogue shots and then set up a scene like you'd find in a cookery book. I took this a step further by creating a mockup of a 'Tamiya Chef' magazine in Photoshop and writing a recipe making some references to overlapping terms such as the choice of oil, removing shells etc.


To embrace the theme further I made some 'Sand Blitzer' and 'Fusion!' stickers cut from vinyl.
