Vintage and mint.

Here is my mint 1988 Avante, this is my second Avante and is a mint used runner. Purchased this a year ago needed a few parts so over the last year have picked up vintage unused parts to finish her off. I have just replaced the front shock absorbers with a mint set. About 6 years ago I spent 3 months sourcing every single brand new vintage part to build an Avante from scratch! I completed the challenge and believe was the last person to do such a task as a few months after I found out that Tamiya were to rerelease the Avante. In my eyes my build was a total waste of money! The build exceeded £1200....... And that was without a new body parts and transmitter I clearly remember seeing a body set for sale back then at £400..... Yep £400. Glad I did it but that cost me big time, it would be impossible to take on such a task now but 6 years back vintage Avante parts were plenty. This one is fitted with the adspec and has a mint racing pack boxed for the complete packaged. This one does have a set of rerelease tyres but I do have one pair of vintage bagged pinspike tyres and am searching for another pair.
This car is a a angry looking machine with totaly wicked looks and the best looking body of any 4x4 racer.
As we all know a total over engineered flop just look at the amount of parts that make up the steering assembly. When this came out it was beyond my pockets! I was having fun with my lunchbox pardon the pun lol and that was my limit when it came to cash.
This car is a true collectors item and has its place in my collection and has totally earned it.
Legends are born and this is one serious birth.......
