I bought two Neo Fighter shells from TC member Taffer who offered me stickers too. 'No need!' was my reply as I had other ideas.

This is the first of those two that I've painted and stickered up. After doing one in the Frog style, which wasn't much of a stretch as Tamiya give you most of the stickers with the car, I decided to give the Hornet a go.

I masked off the air vents under the windscreen, or rather where it was, as I cut it out for authenticity. This was probably not a good idea as although it replicates the original it will let dirt and stones in if I run it. As it's currently too cold to paint I borrowed the spotlights and driver head from an XB Hornet body which I have. This is why the spot stickers aren't level (the lights are at a different angle to the Hornet) and the driver's eyes aren't painted. I'll paint proper replacements in Spring.

The stickers fit quite well, although as the body is quite a different shape they don't all go in the same place, and had to get creative with a few placements to hide gaps. There's an odd 'Super Gripper' logo on the right hand side to cover the gap where the Hornet has a curve around the bulge on the side of the cockpit.

The chassis is from my Neo Frog so hit the link below for the details on Hop-ups etc.

6 Turned out quite well 5 Wing stickers slightly too short 3 Side stripes a good fit 2 Eyeless XB driver will be replaced in Spring 2 Front window cut out to match Hornet

This turned out ridiculously good! Great idea. Being that the Hornet was my first and favorite car back in 80's, I am slowly collecting various incarnations of the model and this would certainly fit within that mold. Really looks awesome!

Beautiful but the headlamps should be on the nose.

Very nice indeed! I think it may look even better with a set of black rims and tyres from the Watanabe-Hornet, to get a beefier looking tyre set.
