Happy new year 2016! :-)

Since I'm down with the flu, I decided to work on a very easy project between the years.
I was looking for some time for a good condition Super Blackfoot to add to my Blackfoot collection. Apart from the hideous Blackfoot Extreme and Blackfoot III, I've always considered the Super Blackfoot the least desirable of the Blackfoot lineup. Mostly due to the loud 90's decals and the lack of genuine sponsor decals and body details.
Then this one caught my eye on eBay. I hoped for a nice condition under what I thougt was a lot of dust. I got it for a reasonable price.

In my hands, I realized that the yellow goo on it was nicotine mixed with ages of dust. Boy, that thing reeked! The second thing I noticed, that the chassis belonges to a Bush Devil (blue chassis, pink wheels), although the wheels weren't really pink anymore. Well, out came the Bref degreaser and with this and a warm shower the goo came right off. And what do you say, it was NEW under it! :D

So what to do: I decided I wanted to keep the new Bush Devil chassis and wheels for a possible resto in the future (I know I will want a Bush devil sometimes) and opted for a new red re-release chassis. For the wheels, I had a set of NIB red King Blackfoot wheels and also a new set of chrome King Blackfoot wheels. As the chrome ones were without package and tree, I went with these. I added a red pinstripe with fineline tape to the wheels.
The windows and body got a good polish and came out perfect. Result! :-)

Wow, there was quite the scum buildup on that rig before you cleaned it up-- nice chrome wheel option...I used to have a few sets of those NIB several years ago!

Thanks Steve!
Yes, me too. But these wheels have become scarce by now! This was my last set.

Lovely truck indeed! Looks great with the chrome rims. I also have a set of those, NIP, which may go on my King Blackfoot, or on one, similar to this, should I choose to build it one day.

What a trio, looks very nice and I have to say, for some reason or another, the decals don't look as bad as normal, perhaps it is the distraction factor with the wheels and red chassis. I sure wish I could get my hands on some of those wheels one day.

Thanks Chris!
The Super Blackfoot comes stock with the red chassis. But the bland yellow boxart wheels look really toyish.

This looks great, the wheels really look the part as well. I like the Supers rarity, it makes it more interesting and collectable to me.

DOH, I forgot it was red, I have one here, just need to get it back together again. I think I might have to buy a set of re re red parts and see how far I can go on a NEW BUILD with the pieces and such I have collected here. Of course I don't have NEW WHEELS or body, but... you never know what will turn up. I want to do a build with the King BF's grey chassis, but I am having all sorts of trouble finding the battery door in that dark grey color.
