Picked up this very rare CX12 Novarossi in brand new un run condition with an (almost) complete new chassis from a fellow TC member.
I added brand new spares plus a few additional options to get it complete. To match the awesome Novarossi engine I fitted the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti DTM shell with matching Speedline wheels, which I have really come to love! The Michelin Pilot SX decals really set it off and add an element of further realism. I never rated this body before but when its equipped with the correct wheels, nice ride height and the tyre markings it is a real standout.
This chassis has, full ball bearings, 2 speed, lightweight flywheel, carbon prop shaft, alloy rear upright and rear suspension arms, TA03 super low friction dampers, progressive force spring set, stainless steel shaft set, turnbuckles, urethane bumper, TM-2 tuned pipe and manifold, alloy engine mounts, super slicks, alloy hex hubs, and stabilizer bars F/R.

Looks nice
Was the Alfa body ever included in a kit or was it only available as a spare part ?

Only ever as a spare part, like the Tabac Mercedes, Opel Calibra and Merc CLK DTM cars were all body only.

IMO this is the only 1/8 scale Tamiya bodyset that actually looks to scale. All others look odd imo. Especially the Porsche 911 GT1 (wheelbase is far too long)

A stunner. Love this!

I would disagree, but I understand what you are saying. The main problem with the 1/8 cars is the wheel sizing and offset which affects the stance of the car. Also why the 1/10th versions came with tyre markings and the 1/8th scale ones don't is beyond me.
The tabac Mercedes, 99 WRX and Toyota GT-One are all perfectly proportioned and look to scale IMO. The rest need the right ride height and tyre markings and the correctly painted wheels to look the part.

Castrol Supra can be added to that list

Yep, I have nearly all the body sets now. Not a fan of the Nissan and despite finding one for sale only buy it if I'm a fan of the kit/shell. Have to draw the line somewhere.
