Tamiya Porsche Cup 2017 - overall 3rd
This is my Porsche 911 RSR, which ended up overall 3rd in the Tamiya Porsche cup 2016/17.
Only Tamiya bathtub chassis with a Tamiya Porsche body were allowed. Powered by a 17.5T or Carson 16T motor with a limited gearing of 5.7 .
Only the Tamiya 26mm/32mm kit tires were allowed, no racing tires.
It was a littly slippery with those tires, but the car was handling great.
I raced my older TT01E R, since i has a portable wheelbase. Allthough i don't
like this plastic bombers, i have to say that it handles great with a correct setup.
Since i didn't want to mount a rear spoiler on my RSR, it was a little more difficult to drive.
Much Porschestyle oversteet then, with nice drifts :)

Well done Was TT01 also part of regulation? Or could you choose of any type of bathub chassis?

You could choose any kind of Tamyia bathub chassis. The winner and second both drove TT02S. Since most available Tamiya Porsche bodies got a shorter wheelbase, the count of chassis was limited. Only the 911 GT3, which came with the TL01 got a wheelbase of 257mm, others were always shorter. People mostly drove TT02, TT01, TA02SW, TA03RS, also TL01 and TB02 were seen. So from the chassiytypes you can see, that i was more a fun class It was really nice see all this oldies racing.

Thanks for that, i agree. Also from the experience of our race class (Swiss Eurocup),the TT-02S is the best performer amongst the bathubs. But as you write, the old style Porsche body does not fit and riding a short wheelbase is a disadvantage ( in most cases).

Yes the TT02S handles great, but i don't like that you have to buy everything as hopup to get a fine setup.
I still prefer my TB03R running Evo 6 diffs and spool. Also the suspension in my TB03 is from the TRF419.
But the TT02S is a really competentive car! Most of our EuroTW -TEC driver race them.

Really like these photos, it is rare to see a car that is actually raced looked scale in its patina and weathering, again great pictures with the trophy especially.

thanks, mate

Sounds like a cool class to run! Basic cars but still the freedom to choose your own preffered style.
