Somewhere early in 2017 I came across a trade for a Traxxas Grave Digger. I bought it mainly as a spare for the body and the green parts and wheels for the Traxxas Grave Digger of my son Daan, https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=131200&id=45448 .

But the plan changed a little bit. I changed my mind and the leftovers of the chassis made a good starting point to buid myself a Traxxas Stampede. And having already the green parts, a green theme was kinda logical. So I ordered myself a bunch of parts, paint, a Stampede 4x4 body and electronics to build myself a bulletproof Traxxas Stampede 2wd. So here it is. Got a lot of help from the Willy pitcrew and we are still adding hop-ups and improving parts.

Originaly a 2WD XL-5 version, first thing is to clean it and get some better electronics in it. It now has a 2.4GHz Flysky receiver, LED lightning with a electronic switch on 3th channel, a Castle Sidewinder 3 3800KV ESC/brushless motor set and a stronger waterproof and metal geared Power HD LW-20MG servo. It runs on a 2s 5000MaH LiPo battery.
Body is from Traxxas, but a Stampede 4x4 body, painted in Tamiya PS20 green. Extra strength is added to the body by using Ride aluminium body repair tape.
Chassis got a complete rebuild and now has a complete set of rubber sealed bearings. Traxxas TRX aluminium shock caps and caster blocks. RPM front and rear arms and front and rear camber blocks. RPM Slash front bumper with a RPM light kit for this bumper. T-Bone Servo saver skid plate. RPM Slash rear light kit made to fit 2 RPM engine protectors. The wires of the Castle set are green meshed sleeved. And the shocks are upgrade after the pictures that you see here with stronger Traxxas titanium shock shafts and thicker oil. There was already a Traxxas wheeliebar on it, but I upgraded it with a RPM wheelie bar mount and Traxxas TRX red alumunium wheelie bar wheels. Wheels are Desperados from Proline and Proline Trenchers tyres.

How does it drive? Well, really fast. Depending on the pinion / spur this thing goes really fast or makes really long wheelies. I love it!

1 Willy pitcrew got busy and build up a Stampede. 1 1 Serious tyres for a lot of grip. 2 1 And there was light. 1 1 1 1 Having fun in the mud. 1 Wheelie machine!
