Forbidden Fruit
When I was first introduced to Tamiya, my friend had the Lunchbox, Clod Buster and various other cars. He would always let me use them but when he got his Escort Cossie it was the one car he would NEVER let me use (because the body was so fragile). When you can't have something, you want it more and wow did I want to have a go at blasting that car around!
Skip forward 25 years and I finally got to try the car I lusted over all those years ago. Was it as good as I thought? Well..........................

Nice car and cool picture! This was also the car I dreamed about in the early 90s. Mine has seen a lot of use but is still my favourite tamiya.

I use to have this car years ago. Loved it!

Just saw the episode of Wheeler Dealers where they freshened up a 1:1 and built the 3rd wing as suggested by the original designer, it looked stunning and it had white OZ wheels on it too.

Nice shot.
I still run my TA01 Cossie. It was bought new short after the release of the kit. Of course the body has seen better days but is acceptable. To be honest: the TA01 is a wonderful chassis that is so easy to drive. Over the many years some broken parts were replaced and some parts were upgraded. The car has the special TA01 drive shaft, a TA01 torque splitter, the alu gears replaced for plastic gears and the alu pinion replaced for a steel pinion . The msc is also replaced for an esc.
Enjoy your Cossie.

Thanks for the comments. Crash Cramer - that sounds awesome! I'd like to see that.
No Slack - it is a great chassis, I much prefer it to the TT-01. My other friend had the Merc 190E TA-01 back then but I thought the cossie was the one! I remember when I was in the Ford showroom in 1992 while my dad bought a new Sierra and they had an Escort Cosworth in there. The salesman saw me dribbling and let me sit in it. I asked my dad to buy the Escort instead lol.
