Can you see the madness in his eyes?
Not the most popular model here on TC. Only a few pictures of it on this site, appears in only four other showrooms.
I do like it, although it drives Willy completely mad. :)
Never liked boxart on this one so spraypainted it silver and metallic red. Cut out some extra decals from self adhesive mirror. Painted city cousin Willy in the same colours and fabricated something he can 'sit' on. Changed the original wheels and tires immediately to StreetRover setup, later on changed to FY10 carson truggy wheels/tires. Cut out the chassis so it will accept 8,4V humppacks for some extra punch. Added red stabilizers front and rear and ball bearings all around.
Drove it with the included Torque Tuned, now upgraded to Carson 10T Brushless, it now pulls wheelies on demand (which makes Willy feel completely at home).
Real easy to build and great fun to drive!
Please comment and let me know what you guys think of it.
UPDATE 20/08/2021: pictures (stills from a video) I made in June 2017 already.

Willy looks really wild. Much better than my version who looks more like 'Mildly Fed Up Willy'!

There is indeed a significant difference between those two. I kinda followed the how to paint a Willy here on TC.

Looks like the ideal beach companion. These are great underrated cars. I’ve come close to one a couple of times they look sweet with Madbull wheels too.

With some modifications these are crazy things. Too bad the standard tires come in such a hard compound but you can't go wrong with one of these, heeps of possibilities.

Pic 11 is one of my favourite things to do too happy days indeed! I really need to start getting out again more with some rc again ASAP!
Love pic 5 too! very nice!
and yeah interesting really this car it seems its over looked totally! But like you said makes a great little runner!

If they released this with Blitzer family tires instead of the Street rover ones (or even better with Vayra wheels and tires) it would have been a big hit for Tamiya I reckon.

Absolutely mate the wheels/tyres were a poor choice by tamiya they looked odd on this!
Really didn't give it a chance!
