This is a 1/10th scale rtr/xb Ford Mustang Cobra R I ran across on Ebay in October 2018. It is very accurately modeled after the 1:1 1994-1995 Ford Mustang Cobra R including the 5-spoke chrome Cobra-style rims. It was listed for $175 USD but, not really caring if I got it, I made a low-ball offer of $85 and settled at $92 USD which I think is a great deal considering these were originally $200+ USD new. I always liked this body style and the Tamiya stars/stripes Mustang Cobra kit but never had enough interest to actively go after one until I stumbled upon this XB version. It came stock with the car, Tamiya Adspec radio. battery, charger, abbreviated manual and the box with all original packaging. Everything is in absolutely mint condition and does not appear to have ever been used. However, one of the rear suspension arm mounts on the chassis was cracked and in need of repair and it was missing a dog bone so my best guess is that this may have been a scratch-n-dent item purchased at a discount. The xb version was released in January 2002, four years after the Mustang Cobra R kit with stars/stripes livery (#58228) and was the third xb kit released in the series. Some of them required the addition of a battery, charger and speed control depending on what country they were originally sold in. One piece of documentation that came with this kit has 'Tamiya Europe' printed on the bottom so I guess that's where it originated from. I bought a new TL-01 chassis to keep as a spare, a spare gear set and Tamiya's tuned gear set for it. I also picked up an '87 Mazda RX-7 body and some aftermarket rims, tires and rotors/calibers for running so I can save the original Mustang body, rims/tires for display. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy.Great detail, stance and livery. Stock TL-01. Factory fresh - chassis doesn't have a mark on it. Previous owner mistakenly tried instant glue. Epoxy does the trick. Little Benson is very curious. New tires, rims and rotors with Brembro calipers. 1:1
