I bought one of these kits brand new in 1999, built it and really enjoyed driving it. Found this tattered one on eBay for an excellent price with full radio gear and a nice vintage ESC. The chassis was in excellent shape - much better than it showed online in pics. It also had its original HPI upper and lower inner interior shells, rare. A quick fix with overall cleaning and re-packing of diff grease, new Kyosho tires, a vintage LeMans 600E Kyosho motor, Tamiya rims, and a fresh HPI Focus body (brush painted!) and Tamiya side mirrors from the parts bin painted white brought this car right back to where I was nearly 20 years ago with my first HPI kit building experience. Ironically - it was the Subaru kit I had back then but I always liked the Focus body better and I've owned three full size Focus hatches so it had to be this! I rushed the body on this one as I was excited to finish it, I will likely add some more details later- switch a couple of the decals, re-paint the driver and co-driver as well as a re-do on the gaps with tape instead of the sharpie marker. scollins

Thank you guys...absolutely love the HPI Focus shell for the price....especially considering how hard it is to locate a Tamiya Focus shell. Tamiya ones are rare and very expensive.
