Finished the box art Sand Scorcher (2010). Not the easiest, but loved the build and end result! The detailing is awesome. I can see why it is one of the all-time classics.
Made the front and rear bumper from 6mm aluminium tubing, left from the Scorcher V8 build.
Added some nice shiny wheels from e-Bay.
Took it out for a spin. Great fun!
Unfortunately I was so stupid to forget how limited the reach of the nice and old transmitter 'that suits the retro model so nicely' is, so the car got out of reach and hit a wooden bench full throttle! I was lucky enough to find out that at least the front bumper was strong enough to prevent any serious damage to the body, but the bumper itself was bend seriously. Need to do some repairing there.
Added some pictures of the box art and V8 Scorcher together.

Awesome build! Like the detailing of the rims and tires. Never had the idea to get the nut to the outside. Gives a realistic look, with black masked centre screw! Clever choice. Very good built bumper, too. And I totally know your problem with the old transmitter My rere went also away 2010, luckily I did the first run without body. Since then, I only use 2,4Ghz Transmitters.

The box-art is beautiful, but the V8 is MENTAL!!! ...I have to find the build thread for that one!
