snow-motion!
Well, we finally got some real snow here in the area after mostly rain and cold most of December, so R/C snow fun has finally started. It snowed enough to take out the 'Team Build' VW CC01 project. And try out the tracks that TC member speedy_w_beans developed and 3-D printed, which I was eager to do. Unfortunately during a dry run in the cold garage one of the track pieces broke before I ever got out in the snow with them. Luckily, he had shipped the truck back to me with an extra set of rubber tracks that were thinner and more free-moving than the original set. They worked for a while but as the moving parts got packed with snow the truck slowed down. My 10 year old son Spencer still wanted to drive it so we switched back to tires and it hustled thru the powder even better. These shots are a combination of our efforts to run this beast today. Thanks to Paul for his time and work on the 3-D printed proto snow track setup- I wish we had more luck with them. I think the material was the main problem once they got cold! scollins
