I purchased this Wild Willy used for very little way back in 2007. It was stripped and then put in storage ever since. A house move in early 2018 has allowed me to get all my collection together and slowly work through the projects. Unusually for me this isn't nitro but when I sold off my vintage collection this is one I kept.

The chassis has had a very light restoration, cleaned, new rubber parts, switch wires etc. The bodyshell however was a different challenge. I am simply not good enough at painting so this was entrusted to Rob (IBIFTKH) and what a job he has done on the old used shell. He has even filled in the back of the Jerry can so that it doesn't look hollow. The decal set was one that I purchased from the Tamiyaclub site when we were selling them. I still need to find a new set of tyres to make it look how I want and there is a new bumper ready to go on.

For now though, what a lovely addition to my collection, its about time.

When my best friend bought it new in 1983, we didn't really liked it. Now 35 years later later, I am happy to also have one in my collection. Shows the bravery of Tamiya to release such a thing in times everything became more faster and race inspired! Love yours btw.
