Being a fan of the Tamiya vintage series, I like modernized retros too. My customised Ford Ranger is a rere blackfoot body mated to a CC01 chassis. Not a new idea, but I think this works best with the available Tamiya 4wd truck chassis. There are not a lot of mods here. the Pajero wheelbase is very close to the Ranger. I've custom made the front body post, rear body posts, trimmed a bit of the chassis to fit with the body. Then the paint, its a TS93 pure blue which its a fantastic colour, topped it with MCI decals. Pajero wheels with jeep wrangler tyres. I'm not achieving scale realism, its more of a fun built that 'what if?' Tamiya rerelease this truck.

Great job. I have a CC01 chassis with a very rough body so now I know what I need to do to it!

I love it! Well, since my first RC car was the Ford Ranger, everything Ranger related is nice to me. But this looks really neatly done. Have fun!

I have always liked the looks of the Ranger but disliked the idea it was 2WD. (I have the same issue with the Brat) This car seems the ideal solution, and very well executed. I like it!
