I decided to make over my old SRB chassis and shell. I fitted a new 1060 ESC and new hump battery pack , fitted a new rear cage , fitted a Twinset butterfly chassis plate that I've had for a few years .I modified the shells front to fit over the box art bumper , and made a debris plate / guard for the lower front . I made a rear gearbox protector from the old alu triangle chassis brace plate . I fitted new adjustable coil over dampers. I wanted new wheels , and I liked the look of the Kyosho Tomahawk re-re wheels . The fronts fitted easily , the rears was a different ball game . I modified original Tamiya drive discs to match the Kyosho pattern on the back of the wheels and these fit up nicely with positive drive rather than the pressure method of the Kyosho set up . .I had new custom door numbers made and I'm pleased with the results .

Cool Scorcher, like the individual changes. Never seen a smaller windshield area, but that definetely makes sense for a Baja bug without windows. Top Job!

Very very nice work. Loving all your mods and personal touches.
I’m working on a new baja project. Hopefully it won’t take 2 years this time.

That looks brilliant. Love the Kyosho wheels on it. Could you elaborate how you did that?

Sure thing NJM , the plastic drive disc centre hole was drilled out to the diameter of the Kyosho rear wheel centre boss and in about 4-5mm to let the wheel sit closer to the drive disc . Slots were then cut in to the drive disc inbetween the Tamiya drive shapes to match the spokes on the Kyosho wheel to act as 'drive' . The centre hole was drilled out to 5mm to fit onto the modified Lunchbox axles . In effect it is a similar drive set up to the original Sand Scorcher drive . The front wheels were easy , 850 bearings instead of 840's.
