Picked up from Ebay recently listed as a Tamiya Nitro. Whilst I am known for collecting Tamiya nitro I do have a few other nitro makes in my collection. This one came along listed badly on Ebay so I got it for my next non Tamiya nitro project. Despite having a Turbo Inferno rear wing the car is in fact a Turbo Burns. It will be restored back to box art condition. Has a Mondial OPS engine fitted which although isn't the kit recommended engine is a nice period motor so will probably stay. Repro bodies are easily sourced so should look great soon. Maybe a project thread?

That looks like a great project and it great to have something different in your collection. Always great to have photos of it as you received it and when you finish your resto. I have a Kyosho which needs similar treatment (I think it is in my TC showroom) and buried in a box somewhere in the house.

The kyosho team used Mondial motors back in the day , I know this as I used to built and tune them for two of the team drivers, most racers did not use the kit recommended OS rfb buggy motor.

Thanks @disco I had noticed it looked odd. It's coming off to be painted black in the future.

Early Mondials were black anyway , yours is a later one as it’s got more fins than the black head, does it have ‘pro’ etched on the left hand engine mount?

HI Disco, now I have the car stripped it does have pro on the mount
