This is my 1/8th scale 4WD Arrma Outcast stunt truck that I received from my wife as a surprise birthday present on January 1, 2018. Like many of our spouses, my wife is not exactly the biggest fan of my r/c hobby so I was shocked to find out that she actually went to a LHS (instead of ordering from the internet!) on her own and picked this out. The shop owner did help her make the decision and apparently he and some fellow customers in the shop at the time were jealous that somebody's wife would drop $500 USD on such a great gift for their husband. Now to be honest, I'm glad she did because this is not the type of truck that I would ever purchase for myself and I certainly would never spend so much money on any r/c car (I'm r/c crazy but even I have my limit) so this instantly became the most expensive r/c vehicle in my collection. At 1/8th scale it's also the biggest and this thing is huge! Every part on it is robust and absolutely massive. It came new-built and ARTR with the grey pre-painted body (orange is also available), Tactic pistol-grip radio, manual and a large T-wrench. I already had a charger so all I needed was a lipo battery. This truck allows the user the option of running a single 2s, 4s or 6s lipo pack so, of course, I went straight for a 5000 mAh 6s 50C lipo battery pack because, well.....why not?! :) Shortly after receiving this I also went crazy purchasing a variety of spare parts and upgrade parts including a chassis protector/underguard, front and rear upper/lower A-arms, turnbuckles, hinge pins, sway bars, center diff set, XT-90-to-Deans connector adapters, dirt guard chassis cover, front/rear aluminum gearboxes, aluminum diff carrier, aluminum center diff brace, front/rear uprights/hubs, aluminum center diff lock spool and front/rear diff lock spools all for an additional $432.65 so yep, being nuts is neat as I managed to end up with a nearly $1,000 machine (which is ridiculous, IMHO) designed to flip off of walls and over huge jumps and drops. Fortunately, based on the videos of this model I've seen on Youtube and the information I've read online, Arrma is a good company that makes quality products including the Outcast which is supposedly nearly indestructible. I've only taken it for two test runs on the grass/street and was slightly frightened by the speed and brutal power of this monster. At 60 mph for even one or two seconds I quickly realized that this thing could break an ankle if an accident occurred. Thank goodness it has a drag brake because when you hit the throttle it squats down hard in the rear, refuses to keep the front wheels on the ground and when it finally comes back down to earth it keeps pulling until you cry mercy and use it. A few kids in my neighborhood even ran out of their houses to watch its first run as soon as they heard it whiz by. :-) The next mission is to take it to the local park so I can really see what this truck can do and eventually I'll start jumping and flipping it. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy.

I can't even start to imagine what it is like to drive this thing on 6s. I'm already in trouble with my 4X4 Stampede on 3s. Wouldn't say I'm always 'in control...' Nice to get RC stuff from your wife!

Thanks guys! After 35 years in the hobby, until I got this Outcast I only had one brushless vehicle in my collection which is my 1/10th scale Tamiya F-150 truck running a Hobbywing brushless set-up on 2s lipo and even that I had to dial waaaay down to keep it controllable. Therefore, jumping to a 1/8th scale truck on 6s is crazy so I'm taking my time getting use to it slowly.

I too have been eyeing an Outcast lately, maybe the 4S version. I feel like I need a real “skate park” stunt truck to really go nuts with and these seem to really fit the bill

@mtbkym01: You won't regret it especially if you're not use to 4S/6S lipo power. It's insane! I look forward to you posting it on TC if/when you get it.

Looks like a couple new pics after some snow running. These are crazy, my Notorious (newer version of this with Spektrum gear) is an absolute beast. Crazy crazy trucks these. I love it for just some ridiculous fun that is totally different to any other type of RC
