TAMIYA TAMTECH-GEAR THE HORNET

Like many of us out there, the original Tamiya Hornet got me addicted to this hobby way back in the 80's. Now I figured it's time to start collecting the different incarnations of the Hornet that Tamiya has produced over the years hence the addition of this TamTech-Gear Hornet. I purchased this in October 2019 through Ebay from a seller in Sydney, Australia for $174.00 USD which I think is a pretty good deal considering its condition, its discontinued status and the original price on the box is $330.00 USD. I had been casually looking for a nice example for the last couple of years but they don't come up for sale very often. This one fit the bill and therefore resulted in a highly contested auction of nearly 30 bids and a lot of activity so I had to come in last second to win it. It came with the original box, radio, charger, battery, a couple of small tools and all the paperwork which has Tamiya Europe printed on the bottom so that's probably where it originated. It's in like-new condition with almost no wear and tear which is why I marked it as new-built. I'll purchase a few spare parts and then lightly run it when I get up the courage.
