The Most Super of Clod Busters?

I must admit, I never thought I would have a Clod Buster in my collection. It has never been a model that I have taken much interest in as I am not a great fan of the look of the original, or any of the variants of the Super Clod that have come in years gone by.
This one though has been calling out to me since it was announced late last year. It's amazing what a body colour and nice set of decals can do for a model, and the use of a black body together with silver decals absolutely transforms this monster truck IMO from something that is rather toy-like looking into a seriously cool hobby-grade model. And the return of the original red chassis & damper parts is an extra bonus of course. In fact, the red parts suit this model far more than the original from 1987.
Oh yes, and what about that artwork on the box lid? I am a sucker for limited edition box art when it is done well by Tamiya - and this one certainly fits the bill. It has echoes of the artwork featured on the Avante Black Special and is seriously cool looking. So for all of these reasons, buying one of these kits was a no-brainer for me.
This will forever be a shelf queen when built - but I wouldn't rule out buying a used Clod runner of some kind in the near future - and fitting it with another set of red chassis parts and black body. In the meantime I have a Blackfoot, Blackfoot 3 & Monster Beetle to meet my monster truck running needs.

I’m like you mate, had to have one of these when announced, picked mine up a couple weeks ago. I do have an original NIB (which will stay NIB now for a while longer), so can’t wait to get this Super built

Looks to be a nice build my friend, enjoy it
Lovely addition Andy. Personally, I prefer the original but then only because I had one back in the day, Italian red and running two Technigold motors, it was chaos!! Paul

Cheers Paul. Two Technigolds in one of these would certainly be interesting!
