So it was Christmas 2009 and my wife asked me what did I want as a present. I said I'd give it some thought.
As I was thinking about it (noting that this is a while before anyone even suggested they'd re-re a Scorcher) I got a call from an old mate. 'There's a guy at work with an old Tamiya Truck, interested?' When it was mentioned it was an old thing with a ford body and battery box I agreed on a price site unseen and told my wife I'd found my own present.
She still insisted on wrapping it and still got sat under the tree.
It took me another few years to finally get around to stripping it down and cleaning it up. She's still actually got a few bits I've got to sort out and it's likely it'll get a revisit shortly. I think I drove it around the shed floor (maybe) once.
Now it sits proud in the living room gathering dust like god intended.

Thanks James, none of them stand up to close inspection by a serious collector, but they keep me happy. I seriously never thought I'd own 1, let alone all 4 in box art (guidebook art more accurately) examples
As for the wrapping, I suspect I may have insisted on it being wrapped, but I'm happy to blame my wife
