This is my first military vehicle that caught my eye from Tamiya. My initial thoughts of this is that its clunky and pretty unsightly. Fellow clubber "Bao Bao " sent me a disk full of Humvee pics, that caught my attention. You can also see his excellent mods of the Humvee. (on this site) I am still deciding if I should do a full fledge modifications to this M1025 to something else...

First thing first , gotta loose the tinted windows of the car.

Add interior details. Seats , driver steering wheel, signal sets..etc

Make a 0.5 Browing Machine gun and a Marine Corp Driver + Gunner in 1/12 scale !

I maybe also considering to modify it to a "Special Ops" version. ...(see pics below), last option are the "Ambulance types".

Another option is the Baja100 vehicles, they are very nice , especially with all the rally lights on top... yummy . There isn't one in Tamiyaclub as yet... maybe soon.

I think I need to talk to George "Bao Bao" more on these options... IMHO , he's close to a "master class modeller", he'll come up with some nice suggestions , and probably lots of modelling tips .

I have been watching lots of DVDs with Humvee action , just to have a very good feel on what the options are .... you can watch the following DVDs (decending order of appearance of the Humvee)

1. Black Hawk Down (M1025 with gun, lots of action)
2. Three Kings (troop carrier, open style)
3. Broken Arrow (no gun, canvas behind)

I would say that this is probably the most "operable" car in the Tamiya range... if you want to have a car , and spend lots of time and passion doing it "different", this would be the last word...
