This is my 1/10th scale Tamiya re-released Bigwig that I purchased from Ebay in March 2019 for $168.85 USD. I have no direct childhood connection to the original and never wanted one BITD because I was too busy running my LB and lusting after a SuperShot. That changed when the re-released version came out because it brought back memories of my one childhood friend who had one back in the 80's. I was never all that thrilled with the body design or those awkward, forward-facing front shock brackets but I find the unique rack-and-pinion steering interesting and the nostalgia and historical significance of this model got the better of me. :-) This will eventually be built and run so more pictures to come once that happens. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy.

Nice one mate it's a lovely buggy to work on! Plus like you say its special in many ways! More now then back in the day for a lot of us for sure!!
I Love everything about its looks and love the design! But the only thing that seems to let it down apart from being a little on the heavy side is that very cool rack and pinion steering system! My BigWig has a lack of decent lock in the steering! It is a original so tamiya might of fixed that issue with the rere? You will have to let me know! Anyway enjoy the build buddy!

Few of these popping up on here now makes me think I need to add one to my collection ... I think the wife would let me get one if I say it's for nostalgic purpose ??

@NEINEI-78: Yep, I was never a huge fan of the BW and never thought I'd own one but we know how that works. I think you have a good chance of the wife allowing one to make it into your collection for 'nostalgic purposes.' lol Just tell her we said it was ok.
