Rather than snip the top of the body mounts off I thought it tidier to lower the height of the posts by cutting a section out from the middle.

A plastic sleeve with a 4.8mm internal diameter was cut to length and this meant that the body height could be customized and the posts rotated 90 degrees so that the pins can be easier to use.

35 A section of the post removed from the middle ... 34 with a white plastic sleeve added ... 27 then painted black ... 34 with the L shaped tab removed ... 38 thus creating a tidy look with the domed tops ... 24 and with the pins rotated for convenience.

Nice. I used the same method to shorten the steering column on my rere sand rover.
