I bought this re-re specifically for vintage racing. More specifically, for the Iconic Revival 2020. I've always loved the look of the Super Astute and figured it would be the perfect car to hit the track in a very competitive class.

Built with full Fibrelyte carbon fibre chassis components (included longer braced front shock tower for longer shocks) and Tamiya CVAs all round, this was supposed to be a solid and reliable runner. Now 2020 didn't work out entirely to plan and I didn't get any opportunity to test-run the car before arriving at the Revival at the beginning of September, so the spec was all over the place and it was a bit of a handful to drive, but it got me to the end of the day without a single breakage and was plenty good fun to handle around the astro.

Graphics were printed on my laser printer, which doesn't like printing colour on vinyl that much - it was mottled before fitting and lost a lot of ink during the day's racing. Eventually I'll get some proper vinyl made up by MCI, maybe for Revival 2021.

Looking good in silver and blue IMO. The black/white wheel combo seem to short circuit something in my head, I have a real hard time to see past them. Says a lot about my mental condition I guess

I know what you mean - that isn't part of the design aesthetic, it is still wearing the tyres from the last race meet. I think the rears are Ballistic greens which were new at the Revival 2020 as the track was a bit slippy, the fronts are Schumacher yellow cut staggers which are probably 3-4 years old and were fitted to my DT-03 when I entered the DT-02 Challenge. I tend to take all my race tyres with me to a meet so I can swap around whatever works best for the conditions.
