1979 Team Chardonette Stratos - Group 4. Haven't the time to write a thorough break-down of the work undertaken but I'll list most of it. Built from scratch pop up headlights, exhausts, mud-flaps, door handles, aerial, air-intake, rear window fins and front valance lights (fogs/indicators). Tucked the sills in to give the body a little more curve and less of a jelly-mould look. Custom decals commissioned, panel lining, customized hexes and wheels for correct tracking, led kit for front and rear main lights. Sits on a modified TT01 chassis thus increased suspension travel and sag, Tamiya Sport Tuned motor, Tamiya black CVA oil shocks, soft gravel tires with hard sponges, rear wheel drive only, steering buckles, 2.4 radio system and lipo friendly. Thanks for reading and comments and questions welcome, cheers.

@Busdriver Your most kind, thank you

Just wow, wow, wow! Which company does that body? It doesn´t seem to be the one from Rally legends... Straight into my favorites, every detail is 100 percent adding to realism...
poulpit
Very nice job, like this Stratos but not D Barniche.... B Darniche french rallyman.
Dirt-540
@ruebiracer Thanks chap, it was a challenge. It is a Rally Legends shell and was a bit tatty when I bought it second hand.
Dirt-540
@poulpit Your absolutely correct about the miss-spelling, Its a shame I only realised that after all the hard work and photo-shoot. I will sort that at a later date. Well spotted chap
hi-pe70
Wow, that looks great! Well done!
We can see that all the efforts pays off in the end!
Maybe you could try to get rear wheels with more offset like the real cars had .
Regards Peter
Dirt-540
@hi-pe70 I much prefer these wheels which are a period correct colour, as for the offset there was never a specific setting. If you look at Stratos' from the period they ran all kinds of wheel designs as well as all kinds of widths and profiles. Plus the offsets/tracking was varied too, some had the wheels appearing almost too far under the arches, I went for a near 1mm just inside the arch so suspension is not hindered by tires catching the arch. Cheers though chap
Steffen
That looks so much like a super detailed scale plastic model car. I don’t know you pulled that off on an RC car. Well done!
neobrunox
There is a lot of work here & the result is absolutely stunning, bravo
Dirt-540
@Steffen I just keep adding details until theres no more left to add or I run out of ideas on how to do things. Thank you chap

You can tell by the end result this kept you busy for a while, what a car! The design and color of the wheels are an unbeleivable match with the color of the body. Very nice work!
Badcrumble
Stunning! Fantastic work and nicely shot too.
Dirt-540
@Tamiyastef I think I was quite lucky as I've had those wheels surplus to requirement for a few years. Once the body was finished I tried loads of wheels but always came back to the gold ones, the gold and blue work really well. Its nice to see someone else point this combination out, thank you.
Dirt-540
@Badcrumble It took quite a bit of effort to get these shots. Cheers for that.
Moroyamita
