TRAXXAS RADICATOR 2
This is my 1992 1/10th scale Traxxas Radicator 2 that I purchased from Ebay in October 2020 for $175.00 USD shortly after picking up an original Radicator a few weeks earlier. I have no childhood connection to any Traxxas models but, after picking up a Radicator a few weeks before, I couldn't resist this mint Radicator 2 when I saw it so I guess was on a Traxxas kick. The differences between the Radicator and Radicator 2 are fairly subtle and, based on my initial comparison, revolve around the shocks, front bulkhead and bumper, spur gear cover, rear suspension arms and lack of gold anodized parts. This one came with the manual and related paperwork, 540 brushed motor, NiCad 7.2 volt battery pack, period-correct Traxxas XL-1 fwd/rev ESC and vintage Traxxas pistol grip radio gear. It arrived clean but dusty so I did a light cleaning of the body and chassis and disassembled and cleaned the rims/tires before reinstalling them. This car doesn't look like it was ever run since there are no scratches underneath the chassis and the tires are in perfect shape. Therefore, it will remain a shelf queen. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy.
26 Very close to box-art livery. 31 17 30 Telescoping drive shafts. 20 25 23 18 Long travel front shocks. 21 26 Very clean. 23 Period-correct Traxxas XL-1 ESC. 19 Paperwork is in great shape. 28 Nice deal.If you liked those pictures, you should see these...

The early Traxxas cars are interesting for sure, obvious what they were inspired by, and were trying to crack the 1/10 racing stronghold that was RC10 back then. They obviously didn’t succeed which led to the current basher market that they basically dominate ever since they released the T-Maxx. Great example and worthy of any collection

@mtbkym01: Yep, agreed. Traxxas was one of a few companies BITD who couldn't successfully enter the competitive race market but they made the best of it by joining Tamiya, Kyosho, etc in the basher market and have been very successful since then.

Nice one. I didn't even know that there was a second, later version of the radicator.

@Ossi1977: Neither did I until a few months ago! lol
