Purchased November 2020 from a German trading site.
I've always been a fan of the F201, purely from a design perspective. This one, which I think is my favourite of the variants (aside from the 49336 Tuned version) was released in 2002, and discontinued within 3 years. I don't think this and the other F201 kits sold very well back in the day, as I believe, being 4WD, they couldn't be used in most F1 RC race series as the rules generally only allowed 2WD vehicles.

I'm collecting a few of the hop-up parts such as dampers, turnbuckles, and alu heatsink and motor guard. I'lll store this away until I've collected all the extras I want, ready for a build at some point in the future.

Edit Dec 2020: I now have almost all of the hop-up parts, pictured below. These have come from all over the world: New Zealand, HK, France, Germany, and also from here in the UK. What I'm hoping to find is the blue alu body post set (final pic) which came with the 49336 Tuned Chassis Kit version but did appear for a while on their own on eBay years ago, and then my search will be over. The only thing that I do wish is that Tamiya had made brightly coloured damper springs in line with their usual offerings on other hop-up parts, rather than the rather dull looking hop-up versions they created for the F201. Oh well, can't have it all!

There’s a really good build thread in the Forum from 2008 for a fully hopped up F201 with the full array of 3Racing and other parts: [Click here]

A good article here about building and running a F201, including some video footage at the end: [Click here]
