All I'm gonna say is @MAD-BEE made me do it, after him posting his latest acquisitions, it got me enthusiastic about some of these again. I must admit, it's the junior versions of the RC models that I prefer, not all the other options out there. This one has a Polycarbonate body even :)

Iol yeah that's it blame me...lt was me looking at your man cave post with all your great gear on display that got me into these in the first place! Mate that's a nice model and love the fact its got a polycarbonate body! Cool you could do your own paint job if you wanted! I definitely know you would not need two tins of tamiya spray paint for this!
Yeah l am with you mate on the fact these have got to be little RC copies for me to be interested! I don't have any ambitions to get into the racing side of these even though l release its a big thing these have a massive following in many countries!
Another great tamiya hobby for sure but l will keep it RC related!
I have just seen a new Duel Ridge going for £16 but must resist....for now lol damn these little things!
What next for you??
Cheers.

I have such fond memories of Mini 4WD as a kid, and still collect them today.
When I was maybe 10 years old I took a trip to Harrods in London, to visit their amazing toy department. In a glass display case in the model section was a Thunder Dragon with a polycarbonate body. This was like finding gold for me … although the supply of Mini 4wds in the late 80s in the UK was pretty good, tune-up parts were few and far between. I'd only seen the clear bodies in the Tamiya manuals and Mini 4wd guidebooks. But … None on the shelf! So I remember summoning up the courage to ask a shop assistant if they would consider selling me the one in the case … the answer was no and I left feeling sad
With the birth of the internet and the emergence of an income I snapped up a TD body set in later life. But I often think back to 'the one that got away' at Harrods!
So enjoy yours… especially with the cool matching wheels and tyres!

These are great stories, back before I got my first Tamiya RC, I got a Hornet Mini, followed by a Fox Mini (with Clear chassis and blue tyres), and a SWB Pajero that sat with pride on my shelf in my bedroom. I loved looking at them, (no idea what ever happened to them, wish I could stumble on them in some of my childhood stuff) so makes sense to have some again now. @MAD-BEE, next will be the Lunchbox and BigWig that are in transit now.
