The Hornet, my second first
Hello everybody!
This is my first actual post on Tamiyaclub's showroom, I thought it should be about the Hornet because, amongst all, that's the car that got me back into RC after over 20 years.
I've been part of the TC forum for a couple years now, during which I kept constantly peeking at the main site to check out all your beautiful models. Now that I finally joined it will be a pleasure to be able to write comments, and of course to contribute my cars in my own showroom.
So here we go with the first one, the Hornet.
I bought it brand new in January 2018, one of the best purchases of my life really! Both the building and the running made me so happy, I was totally hooked within a month.
During 2018 the buggy has been enjoyed and ran/bashed everywhere within an inch of its life, at which point I stripped it down, fixed and rebuilt it and, with a shiny new body, put it to rest on a shelf.
It sat on display for over a year, but that's just because by then I had other cars to keep me busy.
At a certain point last spring I started feeling the urge to run it again, so I dug its old shelf out and put it back on duty, it hasn't stopped since!
From piles of snow to sandy beaches to chilling frost and black ice, this Hornet has pretty much seen it all. Its current state is a little critical as the original chassis is by now pretty much pulverized, but I just got its replacement in the mail last week so all that's needed to keep running is a strip down and rebuild with the new tub. I love this little crazy car that is always ready to go. As the Hornet itself says, Anytime baby!
Here it is with the fancy shell, in display mode..
...but the other pics show its true colors. Down and dirty, wearing its war clothes with pride!
Also, some pics of the Hornet in action.

I love how your Hornet has 2 personalities, beautiful shelf car, and all out possessed basher

Wow what a fantastic first post! Lovely bit of writing and the photos really convey your passion and life with the Hornet. That shot with it sitting in the snow with its shelfer body on it is really striking. All the photos are great, life and times with a Hornet. Excellent post mate, you'll notice a lot of people dont tend to bother writing anything at all in their posts which I dont understand. I dropped out for a year or so and sank into a rally project, when I posted it I struggled to write anything as I felt negative so just wrote something along the lines of 'I'll let the pictures speak for themselves' Maybe I'll get inspired to write more again after seeing your post. Thank you

Thank you guys for the warm welcome! @mtbkym01 exactly
Sorry for the technical issues, LOL it took me almost 24 hrs and lots of editing to be able to upload my post and pictures properly. Still haven't managed to include pics in the text rather than under (instruction are clear, but the result isn't) but I hope I'll figure it out in my next posts. This site takes some getting used to, doesn't it?
@Dirt-540 glad you appreciate the words and not only the pictures. I have other six models and I intend to post them all as soon as I can, rest assured they'll all come with plenty of descriptions and action pictures. I don't have any social network, smfor once that I 'share' somathing I'd like to do it right!
By the way, I LOVE your work. I followed what you posted in the past few months and was impressed. I just wasn't able to comment before but now I'll get to it!

It's always nice to kick off with an important and iconic car. One can tell a lot of effort went into this first post, so thank you for sharing! And for taking your time to do this properly! These are real good quality pictures.
I'm no shelf queen kinda guy so love to see this Hornet being used as intended. (and beyond)
Love the body in white and red!

Oh that's nice, stunning job on the display body and wheels. I always enjoy using any of the solid axle Tamiya vehicles, they are all about having fun!
