This is the Tamiya F40 body on a TA 02W Chassis and the body has been customized, with custom Lexan pieces cut from packaging materials, to resemble the F40 LM. The light buckets, mirrors, engine bay and tailpipes are Yokomo.

4 Front splitter is part of the uncut shell. 3 Custom wing is folded Lexan. 5 Yokomo engine bay w/photo of real engine below. 2 Photo copy of engine behind metal screen mesh. 3 Soda bottle w/flattened straw for intake. 3 Air duct is Lexan packaging w/perfect shape 4 Used many small screws from model railroad shop 2 Time to update sharpie lines with black tape. 3 1 2 3 5 1 2 Reference material. 3 2 2 1 Before. Stripe shouldn't be on the visor. Next time!

This is the best example of a Tamiya F40 I've seen. So much of an improvement over the small wheel, foam tyre, narrow track Group C chassis of the original. The bonnet scoop works incredibly well! Did you have to lengthen the wheelbase, I think the Group C cars are 280mm rather than the standard 257?

Hey Truck, I built this in 1996 or 97 and I believe the the rear swing arms and dog bones were from the Hummer kit. It’s a TA 02W in some form or another. I think I had to figure it all out because I don’t believe there was a complete kit this wide yet. Either way it’s all Tamiya underneath.
