Won this beauty on eBay for  £50, it's the exact same car I received for my 8th birthday from Beatties in Sheffield, I've been looking for one for a long time but most have been incomplete wrecks ( pretty much same as mine after years of abuse and no money to fix it ) my parents didn't have much money so this was a complete surprise when mum woke me to say we were going to get my birthday present from Beatties, not half as surprised as mum was when she realised you had to buy crystals, batteries, chargers separately 😂 nevertheless it was my introduction to the world of RC and played with that car for years until it worked no more and my crude bush repairs finally gave out. I wanted to get another to remind me of those good times racing on the local BMX track with my mates and that amazing day mum n dad really surprised me. The car itself is in amazing condition with a few tiny scratches underneath and only 1 tiny scratch on the body, the box however is showing it's age but is complete with its instruction manual and wheel nut key. I've managed to source a full set of original tyres and wheels from the USA, a new antenna, body and original instructions from the uk. I know to most it's not a desirable RC car but to me it's the most desirable. I had to email the seller to say thanks as I never expected it to be this good, definitely a shelf queen.

I totally get it mate! This car was your first rc love! The one that really started your journey in this hobby!
I know you have been looking for one but must say you found a cracker!! Looks amazing condition because like you said these QD cars are usually really beat up because of all that beginners love they got back in the day!
Plus they always had batteries left in them for years and we know what happens when that is done!
What's your plans now though? You have to drive it on an old dust track somewhere just the one time! Maybe get some action pics? Then after all that you can clean it up put it in retirement and display it to remember those great past memories!

Cheers, yes I intend on giving it a blast on its original wheels and tyres but first I’m going to strip and service it , clean the inside of dust etc then going to give a blast for nostalgia, when the new wheels tyres and antenna arrive I shall be completing into a shelf queen. I was going through my spares the other day and found a set of bearings to fit the wheels so that should help with the running. It’s funny you should mention the batteries left in it because it looks like it has suffered leaky batteries at some stage but. I serious damage, a bit of contact cleaner and contact grease should sort it.

Whilst I had it stripped down I found I a full set of bearings to fit inside the gearbox which is a proper result
