(Update 14/11/22, Motul &  €˜KC' decals now added that were printed by fellow member yogi-bear :) )

A dream come true for me with a massive box getting ticked at last.

The Super Champ has always been my 'the one' and I've been kicking myself since I just missed out on the 2014 re-run as the Fighting Buggy. Of all the things to come out in this strange new reality we all find ourselves living in now I never expected for one minute that these would appear again. There was no hesitation this time, 'Add to Cart', 'Buy Now' and wait for the postman in one swift move. The joy of this thing being delivered was as every bit as exciting as I'd hoped for.

I was going Box Art in the handsome dark blue right up until the body was primed. Then its current paint scheme came to me as clear as day so I was then keen to make just that bit more special. So with that copious amounts of curvy masking tape came in to play.

Today was the perfect guilt free day for being able to get some nice shots of the finished article weather wise and no prior arrangements to attend and distract from focusing on the task in hand.

To complete the whole experience once the pristine condition photos were taken, it was off with the shiny shoes and on with some work boots to see what she'll do. No disappointment there. Running on 2s feeding a Kyosho 20t Brushed motor via a Hobbywing 1060 ESC. (Ball Diff also fitted.) I was beaming from ear to ear watching those classic spiky rear tyres devouring the terrain. Man, what a day, not one I'll forget in a hurry and was also every bit as good as I always hoped it would be. Happy Days.

I love a nice Super Champ or Fighting Buggy I do. And that's a nice one! Fantastic photos and I'm feeling the green-eyed monster over that running surface you have. That dust cloud in pic 11 is epic.

That looks spot on , great colour choice and plenty of bling in there . The rear end looks to be a big improvement over the original SC - Worth the wait then !!

Absolutely brilliant job mate, hope I can do as good a job when I get mine built (mine is one of the 2014 releases, been sitting unbuilt with a few other kits for a while)

That's a real modern paintsceme but with a good 80's vibe to it. Really compliments the cars shape as well as the alloy elements IMO. Somehow weird to see one of these without the usual numbers, sponsors and even without a battle cry Just absolutely superb. The quality of the pictures also.

Thank you for the kind comments, very much appreciated. This Buggy ticks all the boxes for me, and I doubt the end result would have been anything like this one if I had got a Super Champ BITD
I also do feel lucky where I live to be able to put it through its paces too.

So nice. These old classics look great. It actually looks like you could climb into it in some of the pics.

Yeah something about this buggy that all adds up right!!
The body design and shape, window nets, neat oil bottle with pipe and that unique mono shock at the rear and of course probably the best tyre combo tamiya have done!
I too have one of these on my dream list but it will have to wait for now! Yours looks great mate and brave not doing boxart as l do love the boxart on these but you pulled it off nicely and agree with everyone about the great pics! Well done buddy!

This was my first kit a as a kid. I always liked everything about this model except for the original color scheme which always looked dated. Great job re-imagining it. I'm hoping they release spare body kits for these so can play around with different paint schemes and looks.

Also, Anyone else thinking A-Team?

Thank you again everyone
I like your thinking Bazza78, one of these would be a lot more useful to the A-Team to get places the Van would struggle to.

Wow mate, just WOW! Fantastic work on this one once again, the color scheme is perfect and I find enhances the buggy's character. You made an already gorgeous car look even better, and I love that you went straight down to the battlefield for some action after the pristine condition shots! Great photos too btw. Straight to my favourites.

Thanking you very much.
I had to run it Ferruz, I’ve waited to long for one of these, to complete the whole experience. As I’d polished it as I built and sealed the paintwork with 303 sealant it only took 15 minutes to bring her back to all shiny again afterwards

Looks beautiful. Great colours and decals. Glad to see it running rather than just sitting on a shelf.
