Hi guys, l have been thinking about getting the Holiday buggy 2010 for a while but they have been out of stock but back again now and l picked up one from time tunnel models for  £79 and that's a bargain for what you get! Hopefully there is some HB fans looking at this? Back in the day the Subaru Brat was my first ever tamiya in the early 80s but the first tamiya l ever saw was the original Holiday buggy! I bet you guys all remember the first tamiya you ever saw? it was my dads friends car! I can't remember much about it now and why my dad had it? Probably because my dad was an electrician and the car did not work so he was maybe trying to repair it for his mate?? Too long ago to remember now but l definitely remember thinking as a young kid wow how cool it was and amazing its got a cowboy too! and that was my impression with it not even running it was just stationary Iol l could not stop looking at it and pretending to make it go like a toy car along the ground!....Brilliant memories and you could say the start of my Tamiya journey!
The original Holiday buggy was classic back then and still is today! The original beach buggies the Holiday buggy and Sand Rover! So scale looking and of course the cowboy made it even more iconic!
Well this is the rere obviously but the bodyshell and cowboy figure is what its all about! and as l will be running this the DT-02 chassis has become a bit of a classic itself so a great merger old & new!
I can't wait to get stuck in to this build! Simple enjoyable and a little nostalgic!
Thanks for looking in guys and comments and tips welcome. Cheers James.

5 So damn iconic!! 1 I had to get one! Legendary body and chassis! 1 Do you think the 2010 HB is a classic itself now? 1 That classic shaped bodyshell! 2 DT-02 chassis has become a classic itself... 2 He is thinking how it will handle??? 1 Telling the mrs its my last buy!! Liar she says!

I love the Holiday Buggy James, and it's great fun as a runner. I upgraded to the oil shocks (DT-03 I think?) For the money you can't beat it. Another fine reminder of simpler times!

Haha too true simple times indeed! Yeah mate oil shocks will be a good idea! I will obviously ditch the 380 too! I agree for the money l paid very decent value! Cheers buddy.

I picked up the HB 2010 a few months back, couldn't resist a Tamiya kit with classic shell for the price. I haven't run it much yet, but I love it. The chassis is simple but durable and the body looks great. Shame it's not easy to paint the body (ended up leaving it as-is), but went with box art on mine and love the look. Have fun with the build!

Iol just the man! Mate l was actually looking at yours today and hope you don't mind but will be copying yours a little! I always love tamiya boxart on just about everything including the HB but do like the black roof and red jerry cans better then the blue and green! It just looks a little more grown up! Yeah and totally agree a modern classic and a fun build! Thanks buddy.

Feel free to copy anything you like, I look at your models all the time for inspiration so it's only fair! I agree that the black roof is better than the blue or yellow, make it look a bit more serious. Not that a HB can ever really be too serious, its a HB after all!

Be aware a DT-02 is highly addictive! I started with the HB too and now there's a Sand Rover and Street Rover/Sand Viper plus an Aqroshot/Racing Fighter. Oh and I would really like a Nissan Racing truck... They perform very well especially compared to how easy they are to build. Sweet little cars that can take a lot and come back for more. Only the front shock tower needs some attention and reinforcement when you go crazy in the power division. I drive a 10T brushless setup and only the front shock tower needed replacement after the third day at the track. Enjoy your build!

Yeah buddy l hear ya! The DT-02 has become a little bit of a classic chassis now in modern Tamiya terms but is it in the same league as these classic chassis like the ORV, CW-01 or SRB?? Haha who knows?? Probably more in the same league of the TT-02, DT-01 DT-03?? but can't help think the DT-02 is definitely one of the classic chassis in modern time tamiya!
The shock tower should be ok mate just brushed power for me! I would love a Sand Rover too though! Rare now! and like you said that Nissan truck would be cool too! Haha one more tamiya addiction will not kill me lol. Thanks mate

Yeah James l think the yellow wheels and wide stance puts a few folk off but l can see past that! I am the same as you too l have just really started getting into the DT-02! I have had the DT-02 before but only for a week or something years ago! Definitely a very decent platform and looking forward to using it with that classic bodyshell! Thanks buddy.

First Tamiya I saw was a Sand Rover.. In the summer of 83. That Christmas I received a brat and my good mate across the road received a holiday buggy.. He always beat me as they were faster as lighter. But mine was better on the corners and jumps.. Fond memories and nice purchase..
