I built a Blackfoot 2016 a few months back and have been having a blast running it, so figured why not get the rere twin to the BF, the Monster Beetle. This was built stock with the exception of bearings and a gearbox support from TC member Xeostar. Was thinking of alternative colors for the Beetle, but wanted to stick with the original decals and just kept coming back to red. Nothing else really felt right and I'm glad I went with box art, Tamiya really nailed it with this one. My BF 2016 is in the last few photos, the MB will be just as dusty/dirty in no time. This one is going to get run a lot.

I absolutely love my MB and yes its boxart too! Has to be boxart....haha right!! Such an iconic tamiya! Crazy release back in the day if you think about it! Sure did turn heads l do remember that!
Yours looks fantastic mate! Love the BF too looks great with some running dust on it! Great pair indeed!

Thanks MAD-BEE. Your MB looks fantastic, great paint & detailing. I really wanted to do something different with the MB, but anything other than box art just didn't feel right. It is definitley iconic and a bold release back in the day. I always preferred the Blackfoot to the Beetle (and still do slightly), but I do have a new appreciation for it. These are great runners also if you don't exepct too much from them. Have been running the BF regularly for the past few months on loose dirt with stock power and haven't broken a thing. I do expect the spike tires on the MB to give a bit more grip which will be nice, sometimes the BF feels like it's driving on ice with those tires...

Amazing looking pair. I remember seeing a fair few of these around my neighbourhood when I was a kid. There was a chap down the road from my Nan's house that had a Monster Beetle, when I had my Boomerang. I was in awe of the red Bug.
Is that a genuine Ford tail gate on the Blackfoot or a decal?

Thanks toyolien - just a decal on the Blackfoot. Not an original body, but wasn't a fan of the 'Blackfoot' decal on the rerelease so used a spare Ford decal I had lying around. Same with the grille, just a small Ford decal in the center of the grille.
