A while back I had been looking for parts for my Toyota Celica Gr.B 58064 rally car and I found this beauty up for auction.
I never thought I would own one of these and I wasn't expecting to be the highest bidder, but sure enough no one seemed to be looking or interested in it. I later learned the hobby shop was selling it for the estate of a collector. So I am happy to be the new custodian of it.
I love the runner patina on the body that shows it had some good running days. I may add some new patina to it someday. The slick tires make me think it drove on relatively smooth terrain. The parts are in great shape so I will be leaving this as it is.
The related photos further down are part of a little art project I'm working on :) I also love 1/64 scale versions of the 1/10 and 1/12 scale cars.

Patina on the body does look great, I'd leave it just the way it is. I don't know much about these, but looks like it was only gently used and in great shape, great find.

Yes the body has some earned running wear but the parts are all in great shape. The previous owner knew what he was doing and enjoyed it!
This is the first kit I have that I didn’t build myself so it’s in a unique place of my collection.

I hope so! My guess is it will happen on an anniversary year and will be a similar evolution as the Wild Willy 1 and 2 was.
It’s interesting to see only one sponsor decal shows up on the Hot Wheels version. I think it is a beautiful car with or without sponsors.
