It's been a while since I've been on the site so it was good to see what people have been up to!
This is my take on a Mk2 Escort, inspired by the MST Mk2 and Frank Kelly's 'Baby Blue' Grp 4 Escort.
This was my first experience of a Lexan body so it's been a steep learning curve and there's a few things that I'll do better next time.
It's sitting on a very lovely M-08 chassis.
It's got quite a few additions to make it look as 'scale' as I could get it. Most important were the deep dish Minilite wheels, which are actually Scale Dynamics Watanabes with Yokomo drift tyres. They're a bit large at 16' rather than the 13s that it should have, but I haven't found anything closer so far.
UPDATE
Got some PIT Shimizu tyres to go on the M-08 wheels so I can actually drive it outside without trashing the drift tyres. The wheels aren't really the look I was going for but with a bit of body adjustment and some slightly wider Hexs they look ok.

9 10 5 9 9 7 5 6 5 3 2 This is what I was trying to achieve. 9 2 M-08 wheels and some PIT Shimizu tyres 3 Lowered the body to get the tyre fitment right.

Thanks. It's taken some work, but I'm very pleased with it. Might get another body & put what I've learned into practice.

Very nice looking mk. II. What did you do with the body posts?

Thanks. Used magnetic, invisible body mounts. They took some thinking and some serious massaging to get them to work, but they were worth the hassle.

I like it a lot! You can tell a lot of time and effort was invested. The size of the wheels don't bother me, maybe because of their colour and the way they are shaped so it's not that obvious where the wheel ends and the tire starts. Those safety closures on the bonnet and rear lid are seperate pieces or molded into the body? Eitherway they look awesome IMO. Nice to not have body posts poking through. Pretty close to the 1/1 sized Escort. The picture of the cars rear end where you show the shocks is spot on. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks @Tamiyastef. It's taken a while. I bought the wheels in December & got the body in February. I've been working away at it since then. Masking & hand painting the window rubbers & other body details took ages! No stickers here! The bonnet pins & boot catches are from Demi-works (hence the logos) & much better than the stickers that Tamiya provided.

Very nice indeed, the front and rear shots are indistinguishable from the real thing. Congrats

Thanks. Glad you like it. Trying to do 'scale' with lexan was pretty difficult.

I can't see anything wrong with that, looks amazing! If my first lexan had turned out like that, I'd be chuffed!

What a beauty! The Escort looks very real congrats! Reminds me why i stay on building cars you mostly can’t compare with real ones on the streets i could not match these thousands of details.
