The Not-Very-Clever Route
So a while back I got forcibly pushed into buying a BNIB Zahhak by a mate :) He saw one for sale for a good price (he already has one) and said I must buy it or I'd regret it for the rest of my life. Never one to disappoint my friends, I promptly bought it, with the intention of either leaving it in the box or just building it stock....
That lasted about 10 minutes after hitting the buy button, by which point I'd bought a slipper clutch and alloy motor mount. Long story short I managed to put together a complete TRF201 chassis with all the carbon filled versions of the plastic parts, alloy camber plates, lightweight idler shaft, vented cooling plates, hardened gear set, DB-01 CVDs, big bore dampers, hard ball adjusters, hard turnbuckles, ball races throughout, alloy servo arm, alloy shims and spacers throughout and a Kyosho gear diff. Steering duties come via a Savox SC0254, motor is a SkyRC Ares 10.5T and ESC is a SkyRC Toro 120A alloy edition, all with the wires trimmed and braided.
The body paint didn't come out as I hoped - the gun metal on the top half is too dark and I got bleads with the pink and black, so it might get stripped and redone. Also got a 201 ver1 body and decal set along with a Team Azarashi Canyk body in reserve. Otherwise, it's a cracking buggy and goes brilliantly with it's big brother Durga!
